The Salvation Army Responds to Flash Flooding Crisis in Union City, TN

(Union City, TN) – The Salvation Army has launched a response to the flash flooding crisis in Union City, Tennessee, where torrential rains have led to flash floods, triggering evacuations and necessitating search-and-rescue operations.

Reports have emerged of dramatic rescues as local authorities utilized boats to reach and evacuate residents stranded in their homes. An eyewitness account reveals the heroism of emergency responders and volunteers, with approximately two dozen individuals being safely rescued from perilous situations.

The National Weather Service at Memphis issued a concerning report on Friday morning, indicating that an astonishing 10 inches of rainfall had deluged parts of the Missouri bootheel and northwest Tennessee within a mere 24 hours.
