Salvation Army On Scene of Two Wildfires in Wisconsin

Juneau County/Monroe County, WI – The Salvation Army of Wisconsin and Upper Michigan was called out by Emergency Management after two wildfires in the northern part of the state Thursday. One wildfire location was near Necedah, WI, and another near Ft. McCoy, WI.

Our Emergency Disaster Services (EDS) team is currently on the scene with our Wausau and La Crosse canteens (mobile feeding units) providing food and hydration to first responders and community members.

Meals include bananas, string cheese, cookies, chips and a hotdog or sandwich. As of Friday morning, 3,680 drinks, 736 meals and 150 snacks have been served.

EDS staff and volunteers are also helping assist residents with shelter and emotional and spiritual care.

We will provide more details as they become available.
