Salvation Army Providing Support to Tornado Survivors in Mayfield, Kentucky

Paducah, KY – An outbreak of tornados ravaged several areas in Western Kentucky Friday evening, into Saturday morning. Damage assessments are still underway due to inaccessible area and cell phone outages, but The Salvation Army is providing hope and services to those in Mayfield and Graves County.
The Salvation Army of Paducah, Kentucky has established an incident command team in Mayfield, Kentucky at Mayfield High School. The incident command team is being led by Bo Sells, Emergency Disaster Services Director. The team will provide assistance to The Salvation Army of Paducah as they continue to serve displaced residents of Mayfield. A canteen from The Salvation Army of Jackson, TN has been assigned to the Mayfield, KY response. Two roving caravans of mobile kitchens (canteens) are currently in route from The Salvation Army Alabama-Louisiana-Mississippi Division and will arrive later this evening. In addition to food and drinks, Lieutenants David and Brittney Donegan, Corps Officers for The Salvation Army of Paducah, are providing vital emotional and spiritual care to those suffering devastating losses.
