Herkimer, N.Y. (March 13, 2019) — The Salvation Army Herkimer Emergency Disaster Services Team is provided assistance to two people who were displaced from their home by a fire Wednesday morning in the Village of Herkimer.
Salvation Army Officers and volunteers are assisting the displaced family with emotional support and counseling, and referrals to agencies that will help them with their recovery.
Salvation Army volunteers are also currently on scene providing hot beverages and water to first responders from across the Valley, who have been battling the fire since 8am.

The Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Services volunteers are trained to respond to disasters such as fires, floods and ice storms and administer to the needs of survivors.
