Beaufort County, N.C. (August 19, 2018)—On Saturday, August 18, The Salvation Army of Washington, N.C. provided support to responders searching for two missing boaters in Beaufort County, North Carolina. According to WITN news, an elderly couple departed a local marina early Friday afternoon. Friday evening, an unmanned 20-foot craft was reported near the Pamlico River in Beaufort County. The Coast Guard launched two shoreline search teams and nine marine assets to search for the couple.

In coordination with Beaufort County Emergency Management, the canteen and crew deployed to the Incident Command Post to provide hydration, snacks, meals and emotional & spiritual care to responding personnel.
