Salvation Army Teams Continue Response to Lake County, Ill. Flooding

(Chicago - July 14, 2017)  For the third day and in coordination with the Lake County Illinois Office of Emergency Management, The Salvation Army’s Emergency Disaster Services (EDS) continues to blanket Lake County with two Emergency Rapid Response Units; providing hydration and snacks as well as distributing flood clean up kits.

In addition to the Rapid Response units, the Army is also providing:

  • A mobile feeding kitchen to assist in meal service to flood survivors
  • Sand baggers
  • First response personnel  
  • Emotional & Spiritual Care

 

Communities being served today are the following:                                                                                                                  

  • Round Lake
  • Lake Forest
  • Lake Bluff
  • Lake Zurich
  • Libertyville
  • North Chicago
  • Waukegan
  • Lincolnshire

Salvation Army teams will continue assessing these affected areas while distributing hydration, snacks, meals, and Flood Clear-Up Kits.  Army personnel are also developing its next operational phase utilizing Salvation Army Service Extension offices throughout the affected areas that will provide expanded support services. 

In addition to flood clean-up kits -- food boxes and personal care kits will be distributed at these locations.
