SACRAMENTO--The Salvation Army has extended meal services to the repopulated areas in Lower Lake to feed residents affected by the recent Clayton Fire. Teams have established three services sites for residents who have already re-entered today and for those coming through the weekend. Also, staff will continue feeding at the Twin Pine Casino in Middletown.
Initial planning calls for the meal service to extend into next week or even further depending on assessment. So far, more than 2,000 meals have been served since Sunday.
Along with the meal service, Salvation Army officers will continue to provide emotional and spiritual care to the affected areas.
The Salvation Army will have case management services at the Local Assistance Center in Clear Lake starting tomorrow. Staff will also continue to assess the situation and strategize for long-term assistance planning for the area.
New Salvation Army staffing
New teams from San Francisco, Monterey, Modesto and Lodi have arrived at the Clayton Fire scene today to assist with the meal services and spiritual care.
Staff from Sacramento, Solano County and Roseville are still on the scene.
