The Salvation Army is closely monitoring the severe weather situation affecting Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, and North & South Carolina, known as Winter Storm Pax.
A significant number of mobile feeding units drawn from the six affected States are on standby, awaiting the final outcome of the storms' worst affects. Should there be an escalation in power outages, followed by requests for mass feeding, especially in more rural areas, The Salvation Army will respond accordingly. An additional number of units are being made available should the need arise, from Florida which is south of the storms' path.
The Salvation Army is grateful for any monetary donations to help offset the cost of response during Winter Storm Pax. Please donate at 1-800-SAL-ARMY, or www.salvationarmyusa.org. For more information on this disaster, and how you can help, please go to www.disaster.salvationarmyusa.org.
