Denver, CO (June 23, 2013) ? As fires continue to erupt across Colorado, The Salvation Army calls in Emergency Disaster Services teams from New Mexico, California, Wyoming and Montana in response to requests for aid in multiple locations around the state. The Salvation Army?s Colorado teams have worked non-stop since the Black Forest Fire began burning nearly two week ago. In just eleven days, these teams have provided nearly 13,000 meals and more than 50,000 snacks and drinks to first responders, law enforcement and evacuees of multiple fires. Salvation Army disaster services personnel continues to provide food, hydration and emotional care to Black Forest Fire evacuees as they return home through the Vollmer Road re-entry point located at School in the Woods. Tomorrow, The Salvation Army will begin feeding operations at the West Fork Fire shelter in Del Norte. Teams remain on standby to provide relief in the East Peak Fire burning near Walsenburg.
