The Salvation Army Stands Side By Side With First Responders at Hostage Standoff

Ozark, Ala. (January 31, 2013) – Volunteers and staff from The Salvation Army in Dale and Houston Counties continue their response in support of First Responders and families working to bring a peaceful resolution to the continuing hostage standoff in Midland City, Ala.
Stationed at the Incident Command post adjacent to the FBI Mobile Command center, The Salvation Army’s Mobile Feeding Unit has been working non-stop since the standoff began to meet the physical and emotional needs of responders and residents. Since Tuesday evening, The Salvation Army has served over 1,000 hot meals, 3,012 snacks and 3114 drinks.
The Salvation Army’s Advisory Board Chairman for Dale County, Rev, Jim Hill has been with the family of the hostage, offering prayer and support. The Salvation Army has provided meals, snacks & drinks for the family of the hostage child and will continue to do so for as long is needed.
The Dale County Baptist Association will be partnering with The Salvation Army at the Command Center to offer support and prayer to responders and volunteers, as well as working with The Salvation Army in providing food & drinks to all.
