The Salvation Army is Providing Food & Water for Evacuees & Firefighters at Trinity Ridge Fire in Idaho

Pine, ID (August 21, 2012) – The Salvation Army has been called in to provide emergency relief to the evacuees and firefighters at the Trinity Ridge Fire in Central Idaho.  This morning, Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Teams from Idaho relieved the Southern Baptist relief team, who has been providing food and water for the evacuees and firefighters affected by the blaze.  The Salvation Army will offer physical, spiritual, and emotional support to the firefighters, beginning with 3 meals a day and lots of water.  This fixed feeding station is located in Pine, ID.

Fire fighters have been responding to the Trinity Ridge Fire for the last 2 weeks, and as it continues to rage, The Salvation Army will be there as needed.

“It is our greatest honor to be able to serve those fighting to protect lives and homes, and to also be available to assist in securing hope for the thousands affected by this terrible fire,” says Major Eddie Patterson, who is heading up The Salvation Army’s relief efforts in Pine.  “We will do everything we can to work with the City and State officials, as well as with the community, in addressing the needs.  Our hearts and prayers go out to all those suffering at the hands of this fire.”

The Salvation Army will be at the fixed feeding site in Pine from Tuesday, August 21st, 2012 through Thursday, August 23rd, 2012.
