Oklahoma City, OK – Even as storms continue to hammer the region, The Salvation Army is in contact with Emergency Managers across Arkansas and Oklahoma. The Arkansas-Oklahoma (AOK) Division has placed disaster response teams and mobile feeding units across the division on stand-by.
Multiple locations in Oklahoma have sustained damage due to high winds, tornadoes, and hail damage. Tornado warnings are currently underway in counties in Oklahoma and Arkansas. The AOK Division is also in contact with The Salvation Army in the Central United States in the event we are asked to help in the Joplin area where a devastating tornado struck earlier this afternoon.
The Salvation Army will be prepared to provide care and compassion to those affected by storms as well as provide food and hydration. Please pray for all of those affected by storms today across multiple states in the Central United States from Texas to Minnesota.
Donations are always needed to offset the costs of services to storm victims. Please visit: www.disaster.salvationarmyusa.org or call 1-800-SAL-ARMY to donate. All donations for disaster services will be used for the designated purpose. For additional updates please follow us at www.twitter.com/cindySAARMYOKPR.
