The Salvation Army Participates in One Day Assistance Centers

Arkansas (May 4, 2011) – The Salvation Army of Conway and The Salvation Army of Hot Springs are participating in two separate One Day Assistance Centers being held in Garland and Faulkner Counties.

The Assistance Center will have numerous representatives from Arkansas Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster.   Agencies will be available to meet with storm survivors on assistance available and provide additional information.  Food, Counseling/intervention, Hygiene Kits, Cleaning supplies, water, blankets, and more may be available.  Photo ID and Documentation of disaster damage are required to receive some forms of assistance.

Financial donations are critically needed to support disaster relief efforts.  There are four ways to donate:

  • Visit www.salvationarmyusa.org
  • Call 1-800-SAL-ARMY and designate April 2011 Tornado Outbreak.
  • Checks may be made out to “The Salvation Army Disaster Services” and mailed to PO Box 100339, Atlanta, GA  30384-0339.  Monetary donations will ensure The Salvation Army can meet the most immediate needs of those impacted by disaster.
  • Text “GIVE” to 80888 to donate $10.
