OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – In the middle of last week's major snow storm which impacted much of Oklahoma,  a grain elevator near Enid, OK caught fire.  Emergency management from Garfield County contacted Captain John Dancer, commanding officer of The Salvation Army's Enid, OK corps to respond and assist first responders.

The Enid, OK canteen, a mobile feeding unit,  responded providing 67 meals, 45 snacks and 155 drinks to local and volunteer firefighters, emergency managers and others.   The unit was deployed for six hours until the fire was out and services were no longer needed.

Captain Dancer states “The Salvation Army is ready to respond when called upon.  It is important the community know we are prepared to mobilize quickly and will stay as long as we are needed.  We provide emotional and spiritual care for those involved in the response as well as meals and hydration.”
