AUSTRALIA - The Salvation Army in Australia is assisting people affected by well-publicized flooding in Queensland and New South Wales but now Victoria has been hit with some of the worst floods in the state's history.
More than 40,000 Victorians have been affected, with 4,000 having to seek shelter in evacuation sites. At least 60 towns were hit by flood fronts kilometers wide that flowed through the western part of the state.
The Salvation Army has been assisting people at relief centers in Creswick, Clunes, Horsham, Echuca, Rochester, Kerang, Donald, Swan Hill and Charlton.
With more wild weather expected, bringing the risk of further unseasonal flooding, The Salvation Army will continue to provide help on the frontline.
