Evergreen, CO (June 4, 2013)— The Salvation Army’s Emergency Disaster Services team continues to provide meals and hydration to first responders of Evergreen’s Bluebell Fire that broke out yesterday afternoon. The volunteer team responded to a request from Jefferson County to serve dinner to approximately 150 firefighters last night after the first, long day of battling Bluebell’s flames.
The volunteer crew continued its service providing 70 breakfast meals and 170 lunches to firefighters today from their mobile canteen.  Additional Emergency Disaster Services teams from The Salvation Army are on standby and prepared to assist when called.

The Salvation Army is so grateful for partners that enable our crews to continue caring for the needs of the Bluebell Fire first responders.  We are distributing bottled water donated by Evergreen’s WalMart and Home Depot locations and will feed Jefferson County firefighters dinner this evening provided by Subway locations in Evergreen and Conifer.

Monetary donations are the best way to help us meet the immediate needs of first responders to this wildfire.

Donors are encouraged to give online at www.imsalvationarmy.org or by calling 1-800-SAL-ARMY (1-800-725-2769) and designating your gift to the Bluebell Fire.

Checks may be made out to:
