Louisville, Kentucky (February 29, 2012) – At around 1:40 this afternoon, the National Weather Service confirmed the touchdown of at least one tornado in Hardin County, Kentucky.
Lieutenant Marie Inmon, is the representative responsible for The Salvation Army’s work in Hardin County, and is based in Elizabethtown. Lt. Inmon—with the assistance of Divisional Emergency Disaster Services Coordinator, Joe Hughes—is working with local, county, and state Emergency Operations Center staff along with other disaster response agencies to evaluate damage and the coordinate the appropriate response to the developing needs.
A Mobile Feeding Kitchens—Canteens—from Louisville, Kentucky has been placed at the ready and response teams are standing-by in Elizabethtown as well as in nearby Richmond, Kentucky and Bardstown, Kentucky.
