The Salvation Army Offers Relief in Beaver Crossing, Nebraska After Sunday Storms

Beaver Crossing, Neb. (May 14, 2014) —The Salvation Army continues to provide disaster relief in the wake of strong storms that damaged communities in central Nebraska on Sunday evening, May 11.
An Emergency Disaster Services mobile canteen and crew from Lincoln have been stationed in Beaver Crossing since Monday morning, May 12, serving food and beverages to hundreds of emergency workers and clean-up crews. According to Lincoln Corps Officer and Incident Commander, Major James Pennington, more than 1,500 meals were provided on Monday and Tuesday by Salvation Army volunteers and staff.

An Emergency Services crew from the Grand Island Salvation Army was deployed to Sutton, Neb. on May 12 to provide relief to those impacted by Sunday’s storms. Operations in Sutton have concluded as of today. The Salvation Army will remain on the scene in Beaver Crossing through the week or for as long as needed.
