Northwest Arkansas Area Command Responds to Search & Rescue

Oklahoma City, OK   – Benton County (AR) Emergency Management has requested the assistance of The Salvation Army for a search and rescue operation in West Siloam Springs, AR.

Major Tim Williford, Northwest Arkansas Area Commander, is en route to serve responders throughout the night.   A tornado struck a trailer park in the area.  A search and rescue effort is underway for survivors.  The amount of damage in the area is unknown at this time.

Major Denise Williford reports the Northwest Arkansas Salvation Army team will remain in service as long as there is a need.   Food, hydration and emotional and spiritual care will be provided to all affected in the area.
