Donate Products and Supplies

The work of The Salvation Army during a disaster would not be possible without the generous support of our public and private donors. As one of the most recognized and beloved charities, The Salvation Army has a geographic footprint that stretches across almost every zip code in America and 133 countries. By becoming a strategic partner, you will create meaningful partnership experiences that match your business objectives and corporate philanthropy focus.

If your corporation is interested in partnering with The Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Services program during a disaster relief or preparedness effort, please contact us.

Things to Consider

Before donating goods to disaster relief, The Salvation Army encourages you to consider the following:

  • Financial donations are always the BEST way to help during a disaster. A cash donation allows charitable relief agencies like The Salvation Army to quickly buy whatever disaster survivors need most!
  • Essential Products. Confirm what products are needed BEFORE doing any collections.
  • Shipping Arrangements. The Salvation Army does not have the resources to arrange transportation for donations. Any good that are accepted must be sorted and appropriately packed, palletized, and shrink-wrapped before being shipped to The Salvation Army.
  • Used clothing, furniture, and motor vehicles are not needed during disaster. The Salvation Army does count on these donations to fund its local programs through sales at their Thrift Stores. To donate used items to your local Salvation Army, call 1-800-SA-TRUCK (728-7825) to arrange a pick-up or to find the nearest drop-off location.
Be wary of anyone who claims “everything is needed”. Communities hit by disaster can be quickly overwhelmed by well-intentioned but uncoordinated shipments of donated goods and often do not have the time, personnel, or money to manage unneeded products. Please donate responsibly!
