Clearwater, FL (October 19, 2024) – The Salvation Army Orlando Area Command acquired a mobile shower, restroom, and laundry trailer for those in need. This was done by partnering with the Rotary Club of Orlando, The Salvation Army Orlando Area Command Advisory Board, A.T.A.P Companies Inc., and supporters of An Evening for “Others.” Due to Hurricane Milton, the mobile shower, restroom, and laundry trailer was of great use to personnel in base camp. Those with boots on the ground and in need of showers, washrooms, and rest were served by the units.

The Rotary Club of Orlando is the oldest service club in Central Florida and has partnered with The Salvation Army for nearly 105 years. “This trailer truly symbolizes that partnership as our club and the Rotary Club of Orlando Foundation worked together to make this gift possible. We know the trailer will serve the community well and we hope the community will see it as a tangible result of our Rotary slogan…Service Above Self.”

In a statement, Major Ken Chapman said, “Our partnership with the Orlando Rotary Club has allowed countless survivors and first responders to obtain the necessary showers and laundry facilities to help them move forward and towards hope.”

The Salvation Army is deeply grateful for the generosity of sponsors and supporters who made this relief possible. Together, we can bring hope and support to those facing difficult times.
