CLEARWATER, FL (October 18, 2024) – Yesterday, we witnessed an incredible display of kindness and community spirit! We picked up over 135 delicious meals from Hogg Daddy’s Beach Bar & Grill, generously provided by Jeff Hawks and his amazing team. They have been tirelessly preparing BBQ meals to support those impacted by the storms since Hurricanes Helene and Milton made landfall.

The Salvation Army’s Emergency Disaster Services team then took the meals and got to work, distributing them directly to families and individuals in the community who needed them most. It’s moments like these that remind us of the power of unity. When disaster strikes, communities and local businesses rally together, showing up for each other in the most powerful way. Whether it’s through cooking, organizing, or delivering, each act of kindness makes a huge impact.

The generosity and compassion displayed is truly special to see.

As of today, The Salvation Army’s EDS team in Clearwater has provided:

  • 15,091 meals
  • 10,979 drinks
  • 7,642 snacks
  • Emotional and Spiritual Care to 575 individuals
