In response to the widespread devastation caused by Hurricane Helene across the Carolinas, Audacy, a leading multi-platform audio content and entertainment company, has launched a significant media campaign to provide aid to those impacted by the storm.
“As a radio station, we have a responsibility to support our community, especially in times of crisis. The devastation and destruction of Hurricane Helene to the Carolinas is unprecedented,” said Steve Sinicropi, Senior Vice President and Market Manager of Audacy Greenville-Spartanburg, emphasizing the station’s commitment.
Leveraging the power of radio and community connection, Audacy’s family of stations launched a fundraising media campaign across its local and national markets. Listeners tuning into stations like 98.9 WORD, B93.7, 93.3 The Planet, Classic Rock 101.1, 96.3 The Block, and The Fan Upstate in Greenville, SC, as well as 98.7 Simon and 97.1 QMG in Greensboro, NC, 100.7 Star, Y108, KDKA Radio, 93.7 The Fan, and WAMO 107.3 in Pittsburgh, PA, and 107.7 The Wolf, Kiss 98.5, 550 Sports Radio, and WBEN 930 in Buffalo, NC, will hear calls to action urging them to support relief efforts in this critical time.
Jeff Jellets, EDS Director for The Salvation Army’s Southern Territory, expressed gratitude for the collaboration. “We are so grateful for Audacy’s partnership and dedication to the communities they serve.”
As communities begin to rebuild, the power of local media and grassroots support shines through. “Together, we are making a difference in the lives of those affected by Hurricane Helene,” Jellets said.
On the ground since the hurricane made landfall, The Salvation Army’s disaster-trained personnel have been working to provide essential services. Nationally, their efforts include:
