Mass Feeding Continues in Douglas, GA and Surrounding Communities

Douglas, GA (October 5, 2024) – Currently, the Douglas operation is feeding survivors at ten locations in eight counties. As the response to Helene continues, The Salvation Army is diligently working with community members to identify unmet needs and ensure survivors are fed. Hot meals will be provided at each location unless indicated otherwise below. To date, the local operation has provided over 40,500 meals and over 21,800 snacks to survivors of Hurricane Helene. The Salvation Army is committed to serving Douglas and the surrounding communities. Feeding will continue; however, locations are subject to change. Earlier this week, on Thursday, The Salvation Army provided cobranded Midwest Food Bank food boxes to the First Baptist Church of Alma for local distribution. The congregation handed out over 800 boxes during the event.
