Horseshoe Beach, FL (October 1, 2024) -The Salvation Army Mobile Feeding Unit served the residents, first responders, and power crews in the coastal town of Horseshoe Beach, Florida. The area can be described as a war zone. Residents have returned to their homes post-hurricane to discover complete devastation. Homes and Businesses are in rubble, and some are level to the ground.

A city official spoke about the state of shock the residents are in. Just two weeks ago, the Marina, now in ruins had finally been re-opened after being restored from Hurricane Idalia. Now they are trying to process that it’s all happening again.

While individuals and families begin to dig through the destruction of their homes, the meals are making a huge difference according to the City Official and his wife, who requested The Salvation Army Mobile Feeding Unit to their location to help feed their beloved community members.

The warm meals served by The Salvation Army personnel and volunteers were welcomed with gratitude and exhausted smiles.

“We just appreciate The Salvation Army so much,” states one person. “We always know The Salvation Army has good food,” said another.

The Salvation Army’s goal is to bring hope to the survivors…one meal at a time.
