Salvation Army of The Black Hills Working to Assist Displaced Apartment Residents In Wake of Spearfish Flooding

Image Description:

Spearfish, South Dakota—Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Services (EDS) teams from the Black Hills are prepared to begin feeding residents of three Spearfish-area apartment buildings who were displaced after flash flooding occurred there over the weekend.

Local Salvation Army personnel have been working alongside Red Cross representatives, who are set to open a shelter for the displaced residents today at noon.  Plans call for Salvation Army feeding efforts to begin at the shelter tomorrow—via a mix of meals being prepared in-house along with dozens of boxed lunches being prepared in partnership with a local restaurant.

EDS teams are prepared to continue the feeding operation as long as needed.
