The Salvation Army of Central Oklahoma Provides Aid to Daycare After Tornado

Image Description:

Cole, Oklahoma (April 20, 2023) – The Salvation Army of Central Oklahoma’s emergency disaster relief teams were on the ground in Cole, Oklahoma following a tornado that left the town completely destroyed on April 19th. During their efforts, residents alerted the team that a daycare facility had possibly received damage.

Without hesitation, the team loaded their truck and drove down a barren path to find the daycare with a completely totaled roof. The in-home daycare facility sees up to 12 children a day, which is a major help in such a small community.

The team immediately provided aid to the daycare owner and the crews who had come to help patch the roof to protect the building from any further damage. Breakfast sandwiches and beverages were delivered to the property, ensuring that everyone had a nourishing meal to keep them going.

The daycare owner expressed her gratitude for the team’s efforts and support, knowing that they had gone out of their way to assess and meet the needs of her and her business. The Salvation Army understands the importance of community, and will continue to support those affected by natural disasters and other crises.
