The Salvation Army Sarasota IMT Daily Service Update

Sarasota, FL (October 15, 2024) - The Salvation Army continues to serve hot meals in Sarasota, Florida and the surrounding communities. The operation currently has ten canteen teams serving in three counites. Yesterday, crews provided food at a comfort station in Manatee County and have been requested to serve at three more today. Canteens are also joining the National Guard at two distribution sites. To date, the Sarasota operation has provided over 15,000 meals and 4,200 snacks to Hurricane Milton survivors. Food service continues to increase as the Sarasota operation evaluates how best to meet community needs. In addition to food service, The Salvation Army is providing Emotional and Spiritual Care to disaster survivors in partnership with Southern Babtist Chaplin teams. The Salvation Army’s response to Hurricane Milton is an international effort, with crews traveling from all over the U.S. and Cannada to assist with the operation.

  • Lunch service at The Salvation Army 1204 14th St, Bradenton with roaming in the area beginning at noon, while supplies last.
  • Lunch service at 3004 49th St E, Palmetto, FL 34221, with roaming in the area beginning at noon, while supplies last.
  • Lunch service at Wawa Gas Station 7481 Manatee Ave W, Bradenton, FL 34209 begin at noon, while supplies last.

 

Sarasota County

  • Lunch service at Post 8118 Comfort Center 832 E Venice Ave, Venice, FL 34285 beginning at noon, while supplies last.
  • Lunch service at the Venice Community Center Point Of Distribution, 326 Nokomis Ave, Venice beginning at noon, while supplies last.
  • Lunch service at Trail Plaza Comfort Station 3333 North Tamiami Trl, Sarasota, FL 34234 beginning at noon, while supplies last.
  • Lunch service at Longboat Key Comfort Station 4052 Gulf of Mexico Dr, Longboat Key, FL 34228  will begin at noon, while supplies last.
