Florida State Guard Visits Florida Disaster Team to Say Thank You
Commander Sargeant Major Craig Campbell and Chaplain Captain Gary W. Albritton, Jr. of the Florida State Guard visited the base camp of The Salvation Army Florida Disaster Team in Perry, Florida to personally share their gratitude for providing warm meals to their personnel also based in Taylor County.
CSM Campbell stated they did not know how they would be able to feed their personnel who began serving the Bid Bend Region as soon as Hurricane Helene passed through. He decided to make a few calls to ask for assistance. Michelle Fredette, the Liaison of The Salvation Army Florida Disaster Team called him personally sharing our commitment to send a Mobile Feeding Unit to their base camp filled with warm meals.
Chaplin Captain Albritton, Jr. stated he also spoke with Michelle Fredette, who not only impressed him greatly but also uplifted his spirits when his heart was heavy from what he had already experienced in his response to Hurricane Helene.
“The Salvation Army brought a spread over to us and boosted our morale,” stated CSM Campbell.
During their visit, they shook hands and shared gratitude to the Florida Disaster Leadership team and the personnel who are serving on the Mobile Feeding Units.
