Bulk Distribution in Belle Chasse Feeds 1600, Delivers Truckload of Supplies
(Belle Chasse, LA)- Truckloads of supplies were distributed in Belle Chase, Louisiana, to people recovering from devastation brought by Hurricane Ida. Dozens of Salvation Army Officers, employees and volunteers were on hand to work drive-thru distribution stations, each set-up with supplies, including food and breakfast boxes, water, MREs (Meal Ready Eat), hygiene kits, dry shampoo, toothbrushes, deodorant, socks, masks, laundry detergent and more.
As cars drove through the line, relief workers loaded vehicles with supplies, offering prayers and words of support following the devastation from Hurricane Ida. Plaquemines Parish President, Kirk Lepine, said the Parish has a long road ahead, and he is grateful to The Salvation Army for responding and organizing so quickly.
