TSA Siouxland Corps' Area Flood-Relief Efforts Roll On
SIOUXLAND SALVATION ARMY FLOOD-RELIEF EFFORT ROLLS ON THROUGH FOURTH WEEK, CONTINUES TO PROVIDE ASSISTANCE AS COMMUNITIES ENTER LONG-TERM RECOVERY PHASE
The Siouxland Salvation Army Corps continues working hard to provide flood-relief items and a full spectrum of additional support to area communities affected by the Flood of 2019.
The Corps’ latest service totals include the following: 5,952 meals served; 8,862 drinks and snacks served; 10,542 items, including cleaning supplies, distributed; more than $53,000 in financial assistance provided; $6,750 in groceries given away; some 400 individuals assisted; and 1,787 volunteer hours worked.
The Corps continues to operate its Disaster Resource Center (DRC) at its building at 1415 Villa Avenue in Sioux City. The DRC is a place for people affected by the recent flooding to come to in order to pick up flood-relief items and get additional support. The DRC’s hours remain as before: Monday-Friday 9 a.m.-4 p.m. It is closed Saturdays and Sundays.
Donations of flood-cleanup items are still being accepted at the DRC; food donations and monetary donations are also greatly appreciated.
The DRC will continue operations until further notice.
