Wilmington, NC (September 30, 2018) – Representatives from PepsiCo Foundation were able to see a glimpse of their kindness in action when they stopped by The Salvation Army’s mobile feeding units in Wilmington, North Carolina.
The PepsiCo Foundation donated $500,000 to The Salvation Army to provide vital relief resources to those impacted by Hurricane Florence. In addition to this grant, they also supplied meals to families in affected areas through Food for Good, the Foundation’s signature nutrition operation.
"PepsiCo Foundation is committed to helping communities in difficult times and recognizes the work of The Salvation Army to be first responders to disasters," says Shawn Mason, Business Manager at PepsiCo Foundation for Good. "This is an organization doing the work that the PepsiCo Foundation is proud to support."
The Salvation Army continues to serve impacted communities across the Carolinas, including New Bern, North Carolina, the birthplace of Pepsi-Cola. As of September 29, The Salvation Army has provided the following to those impacted by Hurricane Florence:
