March 7, 2018 (Little Rock) The Salvation Army of Central Arkansas is responding to the scene of flooding caused by a breached levee in Humnoke, Arkansas, located in Lonoke County. The mobile feeding unit (canteen) will be serving dinner at 12295 US Hwy 65 East, Humnoke, AR 72072.
The Salvation Army dispatched the canteen to provide food and hydration to both first responders and those affected by the flooding. A team of Salvation Army officers trained in emotional and spiritual care are also en route to the scene.
“We plan to continue to serve the community as long as they need our assistance. Disasters like these can happen at any moment and The Salvation Army is ready to jump in at a moments notice,” said Major Russell Czajkowski, Central Arkansas Area Commander.
Financial donations are needed to support relief efforts. The Salvation Army asks those who want to help the individual and families affected by the floods to visit www.salvationarmyusa.org or call 1-800-SAL-ARMY and designate to Humnoke flood. Monetary donations will ensure The Salvation Army can meet the most immediate needs of those impacted by the storm. Undesignated donations are assigned by the zip code of the donor to the nearest Salvation Army.
