The Salvation Army of the Carolinas Closely Monitoring Hurricane Hermine
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (September 1, 2016) – As the projected path for Hurricane Hermine includes the Carolinas, The Salvation Army of North and South Carolina is closely monitoring weather conditions and making initial preparations for response. In times of disaster, The Salvation Army of the Carolinas has 20 mobile feeding units ready to respond to provide hot meals, cold drinks, snacks, and emotional and spiritual care to people impacted.
“We have alerted all Salvation Army locations to closely monitor the storm and to be ready for localized response in their service area,” said Mike Patterson, Emergency Disaster Services Director for The Salvation Army of North and South Carolina. “The Salvation Army collaborates with emergency management at local, county, and state levels to be prepared if relief efforts are necessary.”
