Salvation Army Emergency Response in Pine Bluff, Arkansas Continues

Pine Bluff, AR (June 4, 2015) - As flood waters begin to recede in Jefferson County, Arkansas, The Salvation Army continues to provide its services to displaced residents and responders in southwest Arkansas.

Supplies from the Arkansas & Oklahoma Divisional Disaster warehouse arrived in Pine Bluff on Wednesday, providing additional food boxes, clean up kits and cases of water to be used in the response efforts in the flooded communities of Wright, Harbor Island and Swan Lake.

To date, over 5600 meals snacks and drinks have been served to the public and first responders in Arkansas & Oklahoma during this emergency disaster response. Additionally, The Salvation Army has and is staged to distribute 535 clean up kits, 270 hygiene kits, 260 food boxes and 629 cases of water, in hopes that these items might provide an easier transition for affected households as the community begins its transition back to normalcy.
