Philadelphia Train Derailment

The Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Services concluded 24 straight hours of service Wednesday night in Philadelphia at the site of the train derailment that resulted in 8 fatalities and over 200 injuries. Personnel and volunteers from The Salvation Army served a total of roughly 300 meals and more than 35 gallons of drinks at the Family Reception Center to those affected.

Trained Emotional and Spiritual Care personnel were at the site, where they spent 16 hours supporting first responders and train passengers. Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with those affected by this tragedy.
