The Salvation Army Texas Division � Pasadena responds to apartment complex fire

Houston, TX – On the morning of March 17, 2015, Pasadena Corps was requested by the Chaplain for the Pasadena Volunteer Fire Department to respond to an apartment complex fire. They requested that the Pasadena Corps provide lunch and dinner for the families affected by the fire. The fire destroyed an eight unit complex leaving 30 people displaced with two being sent to the hospital. On the afternoon of March 17th, 100 meals, snacks, and bottles of water were served to the families affected, the first responders, the volunteers, and the families who lived nearby, who lost their electricity due to the fire. There were three Salvation Army caseworkers present on site, interviewing the affected families to determine what additional services may be provided. Clothing vouchers, food boxes, and school supplies were also being provided to the affected families. On the afternoon of March 18th, 125 meals, snacks, and bottles of water were served. The Pasadena Corps continues to assist some of the families affected.
