Jackson, MS (November 07, 2014) - The Salvation Army’s Emergency Shower Trailer in Jackson, MS is being deployed to the area of McAllen Texas to aid in The Salvation Army’s work near the border with Mexico.
The Salvation Army is working closely with a number of private and local governmental groups to ensure that humanitarian needs are being addressed for unaccompanied children and families. Food, clean clothing, hygiene products, showers, and other services are being made available in the towns of Brownsville, Harlingen, McAllen, Laredo and El Paso, communities where The Salvation Army has historically served for decades.
The ALM division’s shower trailer was requested by Texas EDS Director, and arrangements were made to deliver the 6 stall mobile shower trailer to Texas on Thursday. Texas EDS Director, Alvin Migues stated, “The situation on the border is very challenging, but The Salvation Army is concerned about the people in need, and we are striving to serve them in Christ’s name.” The shower trailer is scheduled to remain in the area in service until the middle of January.
