Emergency Disaster Services Shower Trailer Sent to Greenville, MS

Greenville, MS (June 14, 2014) - The Salvation Army’s Emergency Shower Trailer was deployed to Greenville MS this/weekend to support a community rejuvenation project being sponsored by The United Methodist Church of Greenville in conjunction with The Salvation Army Greenville corps. 

According to Greenville Corps Officer, Major Alan Phillips, over 85 young people from Texas will be spending the week in the delta community.  The teams will be doing everything from painting homes in the community to building wheelchair ramps for those in need. 

These young people will be staying in a downtown church and the facilities there are not adequate for the needs of that many people.   The United Methodist’s had utilized the trailer several years ago, so they contacted The Salvation Army for some more help.  In a matter of a few days, arrangements were made and the 6 stall mobile shower trailer was delivered to the church and set up.  Major Phillips stated, “We love being able to supply the needs of a community.  He added, “We love the Greenville area, and are glad that we could do something to help with this project.”
