Arizona Salvation Army Opens Two Assistance Centers in Yarnell

Phoenix, AZ (July 08, 2013) – The Salvation Army will open two assistance centers today, in Yarnell, for residents affected by the Yarnell Hill Fire. The assistance centers will be located at the Yarnell Community Presbyterian Church and at the State Individual Assistance Center (IASC) at the Yarnell Senior Center. The centers will be open daily from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The Salvation Army will be there to help individuals and families with physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. The services that may be provided include: food, clothing, clean-up kits, utility assistance and temporary housing.

In the last five days, The Salvation Army has served 2,478 meals, 4600 drinks, and 261 snacks to first responders, incident personnel and evacuees of the Yarnell Hill Fires. As firefighters, law enforcement and other incident personnel begin to gather for the memorial services, The Salvation Army will significantly increase the number of meals and refreshment served.
