Orocovis, Puerto Rico (Aug. 29, 2012) - As the storm clouds dissipated, the next phase of relief began for Puerto Rico: assisting in the aftermath of Hurricane Isaac. The Salvation Army in Puerto Rico’s Bayamon Corps, located in the north side of the island was dispatched to assist a family in need located in Orocovis.
Through communication with a neighbor, The Salvation Army was able to assess preliminarily, the needs of this family: their roof was damaged, no beds to sleep in and spirits wounded.
The following day, Captain Daniel Gomez, visited the family of four. They lived far away from needed resources and getting a bed was no easy task. Through The Salvation Army’s resources, the family was provided clothing, a voucher for bed linens and is in the process of receiving beds.
