Salvation Army Deploys Feeding Unit On Mississippi Gulf Coast
The Salvation Army Mississippi Gulf Coast Area Command will be deploying our mobile kitchen, called our "canteen", to the shelter at West Harrison High School in Gulfport today. Salvation Army staff and volunteers will be providing lunch and dinner to the 66 clients currently taking shelter there. They will be prepared to provide meals to additional clients that may need it.
In addition to providing food and drinks, The Salvation Army is prepared to provide emotional and spiritual support those in need.
Because the Salvation Army is a national leader in Emergency Disaster Services, a network is already in place to provide additional support for those affected by Hurricane Isaac.
