The Salvation Army Continues Providing Services to Evacuees from High Park Fire

Larimer County, CO (June 11, 2012) – As the High Park Fire continues to burn, The Salvation Army continues to provide services to the evacuees of the High Park Fire.  Earlier today, our feeding operations have moved to the new evacuee shelter in the McKee Building at the Ranch in Loveland.

Additional volunteers and resources have been sent from Metro Denver to assistance the current crew. This evening, the Old Chicago Pizza Foundation will be assisting in our feeding by providing 150 meals for us to hand out at the evacuee shelter.

We are currently serving more than 300 meals a day. In addition, we are providing 24/7 hydration and food services to anyone in need. We will stay on site and continue to offer support for as long as we are needed.

The Salvation Army is truly thankful for the outpouring of support from the community as we continue to meet the needs of the evacuees of the High Park Fire.

At this time we would like to let the community know that if you would like to help those affected by the High Park Fire, the best way to help is to make a financial contribution.

Cash donations allow disaster responders to immediately meet the specific needs of disaster survivors without incurring many of the costs associated with sorting, packing, transporting and distributing donated goods. Salvation Army disaster services are funded entirely by donors, and The Salvation Army uses 100% of all disaster donations in support of disaster relief operations.
