Miami-Dade bomb squad dispatched to Salvation Army

Miami, Fla. (April 18, 2013) - The Salvation Army is working with the Miami-Dade police department after a suspicious package was found at a Salvation Army church, 911 West Flagler St., in the Little Havana neighborhood. The police department’s bomb squad was called and detonated the package on site. No one was injured.  The contents of the package are not known at this time. 

Salvation Army staff and volunteers were participating in a neighborhood food drive when someone noticed the package Thursday (April 18) morning and called police.
