Sharp Fire in San Bernardino County

San Bernadino County, CA (August, 9, 2010) n- The Salvation Army Victor Valley Corps Community Center is currently evaluating the needs of first responders and evacuees of the Sharp Fire currently burning in the Wrightwood area. Captains Sylvan & Nathalie Young are preparing a Corps Van for response. They will be providing hydration and snacks as needed, as well as evaluating other needs.

The San Bernardino Citadel Corps Officers are aware of the fire and have a Mobile Feeding Unit ready to assist if needed.

Evacuations have been ordered for Mojave Scenic and East Canyon Drives, south from Lone Pine Canyon Rd. to Buckthorn, Slippery Elm and Mahogany Roads. A Red Cross evacuation center has been set up at Serrano High School in Phelan.

The fire has burned 100 acres and is 5% contained based on the most recent report.
