Serving Survivors: The Salvation Army in Henryville, Indiana

Henryville, IN (March 3, 2012) - As the sun came up in Southern Indiana, The Salvation Army continued its efforts to serve the victims of yesterday’s devastating tornadoes. In Henryville, The Salvation Army is on scene with mobile feeding units providing food, hydration and emotional care to victims and emergency responders. The Salvation Army is prepared to serve up to 1,000 meals a day to those in need. Major Steve Kiger, Commanding Officer on scene, will meet with Emergency Management officials this afternoon to determine what The Salvation Army’s role will be going forward.

The Salvation Army is continuing to provide up to 1,000 meals a day at the New Pekin Command post, and also up to 360 meals a day at the FEMA shelter at Silver Creek High School.
