Coastal Alabama Salvation Army Responds to Fire on Dauphin Island Parkway

Mobile, Ala. (February 17, 2015) - The Salvation Army of Coastal Alabama was requested by Mobile Fire and Rescue to assist with their efforts happening on the Dauphin Island Parkway, where Mobile, AL firefighters were battling a two-alarm fire at an apartment complex in the area.

The Salvation Army canteen (mobile kitchen) and an emergency response crew responded to the scene, ready to provide the first responders with relief and support. The Salvation Army canteen is stocked with coffee, bottled water, bag lunches and other snacks - hoping to keep the firefighters warm and rejuvenated.  One firefighter stated “The Salvation Army is fuel for our engines.” The Salvation Army of Coastal Alabama has committed to stay on the scene and serve as long as needed.
