The Salvation Army Prepares for Flooding in Northwest Louisiana

Shreveport, LA (06/04/2015) – Preparations are currently underway in Northwest Louisiana as The Salvation Army prepares to serve the region as flood waters creep into the area.

The Salvation Army in Shreveport, LA will be deploying their emergency canteen to several areas in support of first responders.  In addition, the unit will be supporting a Red Cross shelter at a local elementary school.  According to Salvation Army spokesperson LaKesha Mosley, “This sort of thing allows us to show the community in a real way that we are here to support them.”

The Salvation Army’s volunteers and employees will be serving around the clock over the next few days as the flood waters in the area continue to rise.  Mosley added, “This is my community too; The Salvation Army was here before need, and we will be here after the waters recede offering help in Christ’s name.”
