Oklahoma City, OK (April 26, 2016)  – The Salvation Army Arkansas-Oklahoma Divisional Emergency Disaster Services (EDS) team has alerted all units in the state to be prepared as severe weather is predicted in much of the State of Oklahoma today.  “The Salvation Army is ready and willing to serve when called” says Steven Hartsook, Divisional Director of Emergency Disaster Services for Arkansas and Oklahoma.

The Salvation Army has a standby fleet of disaster vehicles and equipment including self-generated radio equipped mobile feeding units, catering trucks, and a Satellite Communications trailer.  Experts in specific areas of disaster relief services are assigned to a first response team which immediately responds to large disasters to assess the situation and determine services needed.  Salvation Army disaster teams stand ready to respond at a moment’s notice to either natural or man-made disasters.
