Salvation Army Remains Vigilant As Storm Shifts

LUTZ, FL (August 31, 2019) – While the latest forecast for Hurricane Dorian has shifted east, The Salvation Army continues to be watchful as several areas of the Florida Peninsula remain in the potential impact area.

More than 20 mobile feeding units, which can each serve 500 – 1,500 meals per day, are ready to deploy to affected communities as needed. Trained personnel are also available to provide emotional and spiritual care to survivors and first responders.

“As The Salvation Army has done since every major disaster since 1900, we stand at the ready to serve those impacted by this storm as well as those who may be facing their own personal storm,” says Major Roy Johnson, spokesperson for The Salvation Army of Florida.
